forever

notice how easy it was to make friends back in elementary school: all you had to do was go up to someone and say, "hey, let's play hopskotch!" and you were best friends. and then you swore that you two would always always always always be best friends. forever.
but these things never really happen, do they?

someone moves away, or you don't have the same classes, or you just find other people.

i'm not an exception to this either (duh.). i find it somewhat embarrassing(?) how i used to make promises with my friends that we'd always be friends, even after college and suchh.
this whole "best friends forever" thing just doesn't succeed a whole lot of the time? and it makes me sad that it doesn't. what's worse is that instead of getting out there and doing something about it ASAP, i tend not to do anything about it until way later.

i recently found a friend - my best friend from elementary school, actually - on facebook. she moved to ohio before 6th grade, and it made me so sad to remember that it's been nearly 4 years since we last talked. i'm so glad we've started talking again, but i can't help regretting all the lost time.
thank God for things like facebook right? haha.
actually, facebook is kind of a sucky way to stay in touch with people..but i guess there's nothing else better, so i'm thankful for that :)
