It's 2010, woohoo :]
...and we all know what that means: reflecting and starting over.
2009 was generally uneventful, like every year of my life has been so far. lots of ups and downs, but everything evened out overall.
let's see. I made it halfway through IA, got officer positions in ASA and dance team, had an amazing week at TAF '09, finally got my license, pulled the largest amount of all-nighters in my life in the course of 4 months, bought a really pretty dress that I'm going to love forever, got texting, and got ditched by my dad this Christmas while he went to Taiwan. I made new friends--sadly mostly out of the state, and stayed friends with most of my current friends.
I don't think I had any huge breakthroughs either -- just some smaller ones. If anything, I re-learned that I really do have people who will always support me no matter what. I think I became a little more independent, though not much. and also that life is short, and I should try to enjoy it more often.
I think some of the few major events that happened this year influenced that last one. My aunt was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer, and two of my friends lost members of their families.
Death is an interesting event, I think. It's horrible and sad and that feeling of knowing you will never see someone again is heartbreaking. But all we can do is just get through it, and start a new "chapter" of our lives, in a way. I think that's what New Year's is about.
So. New Year's resolutions.
I don't know if it's even worth it to make resolutions, since I always forget by the time March comes around, but we'll see if things work out.
1. Complete Project 365 - no editing. it would be cool to look back and be able to remember what happened this year.
2. Cut down on the procrastinating after school. I need sleep.
3. Don't be fat--exercise. because no one likes health problems.
4. Get into a good college.
5. Make a bucket list. I want to do something with my life.
Here's to a (hopefully) great year :)
