"I think the big mistake in schools is trying to teach children anything, and by using fear as the basic motivation. Fear of getting failing grades, fear of not staying with your class, etc. Interest can produce learning on a scale compared to fear as a nuclear explosion to a firecracker."
-Stanley Kubrick
I don't know who this Stanley Kubrick is, but he's got a good point.
all the schools out there should listen to him. he's right.
I've started checking Zangle obsessively again. I checked maybe an hour ago, and I'm feeling really bad for myself again. my grades kind of suck. like, a lot.
letter grades are stupid. they ruin everything. because when you see a B instead of an A, it makes you feel like you're just not good enough, and too bad for you.
and what's worse is that effort can't help you with this. even if you're the hardest-working person in the world but you're not lucky, sucks for you, no As.
I'm trying pretty hard right now, it really really sucks that I'm never going to seem to be good enough, just because I don't have good grades.
